Do you ever stay awake at night, thinking when you could be sleeping?  I know I do (hopefully I'm not alone)!  It's in these moments that questions begin to surface and you are candid with yourself.  In these precious moments alone with yourself and God, questions and lies are combatted with authentic Truth...

Why do we feel like we're not pretty / thin / good enough?  The Creator of the universe, vast and marvelous, knit us together and gives us this very breath.  (Psalm 139:13-14 & Acts 17:25)

Who am I to deem myself unworthy or unwanted?  God calls us, the followers of Jesus, His sons and daughters.  We are adopted! (2 Corinthians 6:18 & Romans 8:15)

Why do we feel like we've got to reach certain, impossible standards?  Jesus loves us completely and wholly.  Nothing, not even death, can change that.  (Romans 8:37-39)

Why do we look for fulfillment in empty things?  Jesus is the Bread of Life.  Jesus is the Living Water.  (John 6:35)

Have we forgotten what our LORD has done for us?  Look to the Cross.  Fix your gaze on the One who died so that you might live.  (John 10:10 & 2 Corinthians 5:15)

Remember the Father who looks on us with compassion; who sent His Son to take the wrath we deserved.  He lifts us front the muddy pit, cleanses us with the Lamb's blood, and crowns us.  (Psalm 103 & 1 John 1:7)

Who are we to call His workmanship "not good enough" or inferior?  To do so is to ignore His amazing grace and gifts.  Somehow, we've missed it.  Yes, our Father is good and loves to give us gifts.  But friends, Jesus IS the gift!  (James 1:17 & 2 Corinthians 9:15)

Jesus is immeasurably more than anything we could ever ask for.  He fills us with joy and conquers sin; He's victorious over the grave.  Jesus floods the parched desert with rain, softening soil from which flowers bloom.  Those who drink deeply of Him will never thirst again. (Colossians 2:9-10, Isaiah 44:3, & Hosea 6:3)

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.  The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14
