District Blitz Conference

On April 19-21, a group of 38 leaders and students from my church went up to Duluth for the District Blitz Conference.  We joined 3,000 other students and leaders there to "Encounter Jesus!"  And... He was encountered!

The speaker, Brandon, talked about many things.  He opened the weekend by teaching us that when you encounter Jesus, it changes everything.  Then he talked about the story of Peter stepping out of the boat and walking on the water.  He fell when he took his eyes off of Jesus, but when he cried out, "Save me!", Jesus helped him up.  That was very encouraging and challenging to me!  Finally we learned that if you have the Good News, don't keep it a secret!  We were meant and created to share Jesus with the world.  Those are only some of the many things that Brandon taught us over those few days.
The band, "The NeverClaim", was amazing!  They were really all about Jesus.  Their goal was to glorify God, which is so different than the goals of popular artists today.
We also had the opportunity to go to a Prayer Army before every session.  It was so cool to see how prayers were answered and how God works in powerful ways.

To say the least, it was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time!  There is so much more I want to share about what I learned... Maybe some of it will show up in my next post. ;)

Encountering Jesus is the best thing that will ever happen to you and your live will be changed forever because of it!  If you don't know Him, I pray that God will show himself to you in a big way.  If you do know Jesus, I pray that it is your desire to encounter him more and more!

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand.  And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance,  character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungoldy.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:1-8
